He Is Not Here (Lotus Resurrection)

This painting combines both the image of the lotus flower (which ascends from the mud of the river bottom to bloom above the water's surface) with images of traditional Chinese tombs to represent the resurrection of Jesus. The floating figure represents for me the freedom I feel when I think of this story.
